We are seeking a lively, dynamic Director of Music to join a team of hard working and well-motivated professionals who work cooperatively and imaginatively using the National Curriculum and the Foundation Stage Curriculum as their framework.
The British International School Riyadh (BISR) is an extremely well-regarded not-for-profit, five-campus, co-educational school in the Middle East, catering for students aged 3-18, providing high quality education to the expatriate community since 1979. The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and as a British School Overseas (BSO). Music is highly valued at BISR and we see this as a valuable component of a child's education. The successful candidate will be a creative, talented and imaginative teacher, leader and performer, who will inspire students and the wider community. The Head of Music is responsible for the organisation of all musical activity in the school from early years through to the sixth form, including the music curriculum, use of musical technology, the peripatetic music programme and co-curricular programmes. The Head of Music will lead and manage a team of music and peripatetic teachers at our Al Hamra campus and will be expected to work with other leaders in the area of creative and performing arts to provide a wide range of enriching activities for our students, including shows and performances. Music and culture is a growth area in Riyadh and at BISR, with plenty of scope for development and the creation of long-term sustainable partnerships within the local community. BISR teachers should possess the following:
Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher status.
Certificate of Education (PGCE or B.Ed).
Relevant training or qualifications for the specific post.
Understanding:
Appreciation of a British school's demands in an international context.

Experience:
