Welcome to ISA Liwan International School

ISA is searching for exceptional staff for ISA Liwan International School, located in Liwan District in the city of Guangzhou, China. These foundation staff will lead the establishment of a community of up to 1,200 students and staff, within the growing family of ISA schools.

ISA Liwan International School will be focused on supporting exceptional teachers and leaders who are willing to embrace a Reggio Emilia-inspired Early Years programme leading into the IB PYP, MYP and DP - educators who are creative, collaborative, prepared to share their expertise with colleagues and contribute to the school as a whole. With that in mind, candidates for should be forward thinking with a strong interest in international education and an appreciation for working with multiple cultures.

All staff will be invited to assist in the development of the culture of the school and work together to create an ethos of continuous improvement to enhance learning outcomes for students.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend face-to-face and/or skype interview with our recruitment team.

Candidates are requested to provide three referees for pre-employment reference check from current and previous employers.  The referees must be the Principal, Head of school or the direct supervisor from the school management team.

ISA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  Candidates must be prepared to undergo child protection screening and appropriate background check.

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
  • Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
  • Previous experience of teaching the IB curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB experience might be considered
  • Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
  • Sensitivity to the cultural differences
  • A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
