Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated professional for a dual-role position that combines the responsibilities of a DP Coordinator with those of an English and Humanities Teacher for secondary students. The ideal candidate will play a key role in leading the coordination, development, and maintenance of the IB Diploma Programme (DP), ensuring all activities align with IB standards. Concurrently, the candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in Humanities subjects, aimed at fostering critical thinking and a global perspective among secondary students. This role is essential in upholding the mission of our school as an IB World School and in providing an outstanding educational experience for all students enrolled in the DP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging and inquiry-based instruction in Humanities subjects tailored for secondary students.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and regular review of the IB Diploma Programme curriculum to ensure adherence to IB standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Secondary section and throughout the school to support the overall vision and mission of the institution.
- Maintain comprehensive records related to the DP, including student data, assessment results, and IB correspondence.
- Assist in planning and delivering professional development opportunities for teachers, aimed at enhancing teaching and learning within the DP.
- Foster an inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and encourages students to respect and appreciate differences.
- Exhibit leadership among colleagues with equity and integrity, while continuously striving for improvement in educational practices.
- Analyze DP assessment data to identify trends that inform strategic planning and enhance program effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, BEd, MEd) with a focus on a Humanities discipline or Secondary Education.
- A minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience in mainstream education, particularly in Humanities subjects within the IB Diploma Programme.
- Comprehensive understanding of the IB DP framework, including assessment criteria and current trends in international education.
- Excellent command of English, with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey a clear vision and inspire both students and colleagues.
- Proven ability to integrate classroom teaching with program management and coordination responsibilities.
- A demonstrated passion for education, innovative vision for pedagogical practices, and the capability to navigate change and drive innovation.
- Strong cultural awareness, strategic thinking abilities, and outstanding interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a history of meeting deadlines and effectively managing complex tasks.

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
- Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
- Previous experience of teaching the IB curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB experience might be considered
- Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
- Sensitivity to the cultural differences
- A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
