Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in area assigned to teach
2. Full teaching qualifications/credentials
3. Minimum of 3 years full-time teaching experience
4. Evidence of continuous professional development
5. IBPYP experience or oversea teaching experience is preferred

Pedagogy

1. Use inquiry-based teaching to develop natural curiosity and agency of students
2. Focus on conceptual understanding to support students in developing their ideas
3. Use local and global contexts to establish the relevance of the curriculum
4. Provide differentiated learning experiences to meet the needs of all learners

Curriculum Implementation

1. Engage with the construction, implementation and refinement of related subject curriculum
2. Contribute to the construction, implementation and development of PYP curriculum
3. Participate in collaborative planning organized by grade group and subject group
4. Be responsible with the subject-specific and transdisciplinary teaching
5. Be committed to effective assessment based on the school assessment policy

 

Learning culture

Candidates are requested to provide three referees for pre-employment reference check from current and previous employers.  The referees must be the Principal, Head of school or the direct supervisor from the school management team.

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
• Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
• Previous experience of teaching the IB curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB experience might be considered
• Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
• Sensitivity to the cultural differences
• A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
