Qualifications and Experience

1. Master’s degree or higher in area assigned to teach
2. Full teaching qualifications/credentials
3. Minimum of 3 years’ full-time teaching experience
4. Chinese National Curriculum/IBMYP experience is preferred for middle school teachers
5. IBDP/IGCSE/A Level/AP teaching experience is preferred for high school teachers
6. Experience in competition coaching is preferred
7. Evidence of continuous professional development

Pedagogy

1. Use inquiry-based teaching to stimulate students' interest and initiative in learning
2. Focus on conceptual understanding to support students in developing ideas and taking actions

Curriculum Implementation

1. Engage with the construction, implementation and refinement of related subject curriculum
2. Contribute to the construction, implementation and development of MYP curriculum
3. Participate in collaborative planning organized by grade group and subject group
4. Be responsible with the subject-specific and transdisciplinary teaching
5. Be committed to effective assessment based on the school assessment policy

 

Learning culture

1. Create positive and dynamic school cultures

1. Contribute to SEN (special education needs) of learners
2. Contribute to co-curriculum, including clubs and summer/winter camps
3. Contribute to students’ academic planning and university application process, and write recommendation letters if required
4. Contribute, where required, to marketing activities
5. Carry out other duties or responsibilities allocated by school

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
• A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
• Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
• Previous experience of teaching the IB curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB experience might be considered
• Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
• Sensitivity to the cultural differences
• A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
