ISA Science City International School is a world IB school providing a balanced education affording the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social growth of all students aged 2 to 18. We are seeking experienced and passionate educator for Visual Art Teacher position to start from August 2024.

ISA Science City is actively seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join our enthusiastic arts team as a positive artistic force. This role presents a unique opportunity for the potential candidate to contribute to the teaching of both MYP and DP visual art, in addition to leading a dedicated Animation class.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess experience or training in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, as well as those with a background in Design Thinking and Project-Based Learning. Such qualifications would greatly enhance the candidate's ability to excel in this role.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)

• Implement instructional activities where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
• Identify, select, and differentiate instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
• Plan and implement opportunities for students to engage in digital learning and develop digital competencies
• Demonstrate best practises in facilitating contemporary pedagogies as part of the teaching and learning program
• Play a part in developing school curriculum as appropriate to the role
• Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
• Observe and evaluate each student’s performance and development, and provide appropriate feedback on student work in a timely manor
• Assess, track and report on the learning of students
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
• Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents and peers
• Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines and schedules
• Contribute to community and corporate aspects of school life
• Apply classroom management strategies that reflect ISA Science City policies/procedures

Educational & Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications (required)

Experience & Knowledge

• Understanding of the framework of the International Baccalaureate – Middle Years and Diploma Programmes (desirable)
• Demonstrated experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team, developing, establishing, implementing, and monitoring learning and curriculum
• Demonstrated experience supporting, instructing, monitoring, and encouraging students to achieve their full potential and develop their abilities
• Knowledge of, and experience in using information technology relevant to the teaching, learning and management of a school
• Demonstrated experience and ability to provide mentoring and guidance to students
• Demonstrated experience in effective administration, planning, and programming
• Demonstrated experience in establishing effective working relationships with staff, students and parents
• Experience in, and passionate about working with and supporting young people on their journey through education

Candidates are requested to provide three referees for pre-employment reference check from current and previous employers.  The referees must be the Principal, Head of school or the direct supervisor from the school management team.

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
  • Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
  • Previous experience of teaching the IB/A-Level curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB/A-Level experience might be considered
  • Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
  • Sensitivity to the cultural differences
  • A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
