The International School of The Hague (ISH) is located in the southern area of The Hague, the city of Peace & Justice, in the South of The Netherlands. ISH is a vibrant and dynamic school striving to prepare our students for an ever-changing world within a warm and welcoming multicultural community.
Learning is the Heart of The International School of The Hague
ISH encompasses a Primary and Secondary school for students from 4 - 18 years of age and is truly international with more than 80 nationalities amongst the student body. The Primary School follows the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the Secondary School the International Baccalaureate Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Our students are internationally minded and care about the world around them. The school models this attitude by supporting programmes such as the Global Issues Network and Model United Nations, and by achieving Green Flag certification awarded by the Eco-Schools organisation.
We aim to develop in all of our young people the capacity for life-long learning by providing a holistic education that focusses on more than academic success. We provide many opportunities for our students both inside and outside of the classroom with a rich extra-curricular programme that runs in synergy with our academic programmes, with the addition of a pastoral mentoring programme within ISH Secondary. This reflects our commitment to enabling happy and healthy students by investing in their emotional and social wellbeing. Our excellent Learning Support and Counselling teams, are a significant asset in this regard.
Due to our successes, we are a growing school with close to 1800 students across Primary and Secondary. To accommodate our growing numbers, we are currently building a new Primary wing for the 2018 - 2019 academic year. Despite our growth, we will not compromise on our commitment to quality. We retain average class sizes of 20-25 students, who are taught by well-qualified and committed staff. To this end, we invest in our staff and are committed to providing Professional Learning opportunities. This allows us to keep up-to-date with developments in pedagogy as we have a commitment towards facilitating innovative practice and using technology for learning, including an ICT one-to-one programme
ISH Primary School was the first school to become "Mastering" through the IPC accreditation and has recently been awarded Excellent School status within the Netherlands.
ISH Secondary School is an IB World School accredited by the CIS. Our MYP and DP results are consistently above the world average, despite the fact that we are an inclusive non-selective school.
Throughout everything that we achieve, we always remember that our commitment is to providing the highest standards for our students and remember our vision that "Learning is the Heart of the International School of The Hague".
