ISA Science City International School is a world IB school providing a balanced education affording the intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth of all students aged 2 to 18. We are seeking experienced and passionate educator for the position of Primary Principal in August 2022.

Overview of Post Expectations

  • Assume overall responsibility for the school and ensure the standards of teaching and learning as a benchmark for excellence.
  • To direct the work of the ISA Team Leaders to ensure a direct link between pastoral care and academic performance to support excellence and achievement for all pupils. 
  • To support the development of the ISA Flagship K12 school and provide outstanding leadership and professional guidance to school management, staff and parents.
  • Demonstrate to parents the exemplary quality of education provided to their children at the ISA School

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • To ensure curriculum, management, teaching and support teams to deliver outstanding standards of excellence and pupil attainment
  • To provide leadership to the curriculum management and delivery teams ensuring the delivery of continued improvements as measured through the ISA School’s quality framework
  • To contribute to the creation of sustainable partnerships that promote and support educational and economic prosperity
  • To provide strategic and operational management to curriculum delivery teams and pupils to ensure effective teaching
  • To provide an operational lead to curriculum management and delivery teams in delivering a diverse curriculum offer that embodies the ethos and principles of the  school

Special Qualifications/Skills Experience & Education

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level
  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • High proficiency of English level
  • Effective leadership and motivation skills
  • Ability to implement and deliver continuous quality improvement strategies
  • Ability to design and deliver staff development appropriate to the needs of the school curriculum
  • Ability to set challenging targets for learning performance and pupil success
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting data and take remedial action where appropriate
  • Ability to coach and lead a team in order to successfully conduct staff appraisal

Desirable

  • Masters level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Demonstrable understanding of the ISA International School vision and its importance to the life chances of the ISA International School pupils
  • Previous experience of working in China

General Requirements for International Teaching Positions

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject area
  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g. BEd, PGCE)
  • Minimum two years’ experience of classroom teaching in mainstream education sector
  • Previous experience of teaching the IB/A-Level curriculum is preferred, high potential candidates without IB/A-Level experience might be considered
  • Well-versed in various teaching resources including digital tools to support and enhance teaching and learning
  • Sensitivity to the cultural differences
  • A willingness to actively participate in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes
