The ISA International Academy is looking for an experienced University Counsellor to join our team. The ISA International Academy is a professional service platform that supports all schools within the ISA family, providing co-curricular activities, extension classes, and other educational services.

ISA International Academy is under the ISA International Education Group to support all ISA Schools.  The Academy is a dynamic educational platform that provides co-curricular activities, university counselling, academic support and an array of elite sporting, arts, science, and technology institutes.  With a wide variety of courses to both enrich learning and promote well-being, the Academy serves the needs of schools across the ISA family as well as in the wider community.  Our young people study everything from traditional fine art and design to artificial intelligence and genetics. The Academy’s sporting line-up runs from tennis and golf to horseback riding and sailing, and brings expert tutors together with world-class facilities to ensure students get the best start in life and can learn with joy.  We are looking for high potential candidates to join the Academy.

Duties & Responsibilities   

To develop professional student counselling guidance for university and well-being, to give careers guidance, support applications, hold counselling classes, give transcript advice, offer one-to-one counselling, lead professional development sessions, and present information sessions for all stakeholders across a family of schools. All faculty members are expected to foster a caring atmosphere, show commitment to well-being, and help advance the social and academic progress of each student. 

An Academy faculty member will prepare and deliver lessons, work on collaborative programmes, and support other related activities within this rapidly growing and dynamic educational environment. Staff members report to the Academy’s Head of School and are supervised by other members of staff as needed to carry out the various courses delivered each week. 

The ISA International Academy adopts flexible working hours which may not be suitable for everyone. Evenings and weekend work are common, but scheduled classes will be compensated for with release time during the normal working week. Staff members may be needed during summer or winter camps and can be asked to take their annual leave outside these peak times. The Academy does not follow a typical school calendar.

Key Requirements    

  • University degree with a major in University Counselling, or an unrelated degree and a recognized post-graduate counselling qualification    
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English   
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time experience as a University Counsellor in an international educational setting      
  • Experience working with US and UK university applications
  • Cultural awareness and well-developed interpersonal skills 
  • Commitment to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning  
  • Collaborative and able to work as part of a team
