BISR Salwa School is looking for a dynamic, flexible and adaptable professional to fill the role of Administrative Assistant. This is a full time position, working five days per week. Working hours will be until 4pm. Holidays are fixed to the School calendar for administrative positions.

The British International School, Riyadh caters for students aged 3-18.  50% of students are British but over 50 nationalities are represented within the student body.  The school is accredited by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and the Council of International Schools (CIS).  The recent British School overseas inspection described the BIS curriculum as “outstanding” and states that “students demonstrate outstanding attitudes, behaviour and personal development.  They take a pleasure in their own success and that of others”.  In a recent confidential survey staff overwhelmingly stated that they enjoy working at the school.  We now seek to add to our team.

 

Salwa Garden Village is located about 30km from Riyadh.  BISR Salwa is a community-based school which caters exclusively for the children of residents of the compound with a current roll of approximately 160 students. Staff appointed to BISR Salwa join an ambitious Primary School which is forward thinking and offers the best of British education, enhanced by an international flavour.  We have a strong commitment to staff development and to encouraging personal development within the school. 

 

Salwa School is looking for a dynamic, flexible and adaptable professional to fill the role of Administrative Assistant. This is a full time position, working five days per week. Holidays are fixed to the School calendar for administrative positions.

Working hours will be until 4pm, 5 days a week – Sunday to Thursday.

 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • prepare, organise and manage School finances in liaison with BISR Accounts department;
  • organise and maintain first aid cover for students;
  • manage the procurement and distribution of resources;
  • provide general office support under the direction of the School Secretary.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • be educated to degree level;
  • knowledge and experience of book keeping and basic accounting;
  • excellent organisational skills and be self-motivated;
  • initiative and the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines;
  • excellent computing skills including proficiency in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • successful experience of working in a school or office environment;
  • experience of using an information management system;
  • the ability to work ethically, with integrity and with respect to confidentiality at all times;
  • KSA residency status.

Teachers who work at BISR should have

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher status;
  • Certificate of Education, First degree or equivalent;
  • Training or qualification relevant to the post.

  • Good ICT skills to be effective in your job;
  • An understanding of Assessment for Learning Strategies and use of this to inform future planning;
  • The desire to develop knowledge of the curriculum above and below the preferred key stage;
